Although the exact origins of the Mojito was lost in time, many say Havana, Cuba was its birth place. When well made this light, citrusy, mint flavored cocktail is the perfect refreshment for the Bali heat.
We recommend using Bacardi Rum but feel free to interchange it with your preferred light rum of choice. Fresh limes are also highly recommended instead of packaged lime juice. This recipe is for one serving, multiply it up for a pitcher if you’re hosting guests.
2 oz Bacardi rum
1/2 oz lime juice (freshly squeezed)
1 tsp granulated fine sugar or simple syrup
10 mint leaves
- Muddle the mint leaves, 1 lime wedge and sugar in a sturdy collins glass to release the mint oils and lime juice.
- Do not strain the mixture, add in some ice and pour in the rum
- Top up with carbonated water. Stir, taste, and add more sugar if desired. Garnish with the remaining lime wedge.
Play with the quantities to suit your taste.
